In the morning the mountains
are still shrouded in what I discover is smoke from fires in the area. I drive
as close as I can to Grand Teton so that I can see some details and I see that
there still appears to be little veins of snow around the peaks of the
mountains. The lake in front of the mountains is kept full by a dam on the
snake river but droughts have brought the water level down and the floating
piers are sitting in the mud on the buoys and the canoes are trapped in cut off
waterways.
